Summit Aims:
The 2023 Scowcroft Summit on Border Health strives to bring together scholars, policy makers, emergency managers, and public health practitioners to discuss the unique challenges and opportunities associated with health resilience near the trans-border regions of southern United States and Central America.
- Define and triage practical challenges to health resilience in the trans-border regions of the United States and Central America
- Identify the role(s) and opportunities for land grant universities to address the greatest threats to health resilience
- Identify paths forward for strengthening the resilience of public health and healthcare systems in the United States and Central America that embrace collaboration and coordination among the stakeholders
- Identify a model that is applicable and effective in driving collaboration and coordination to improve health resilience and other challenges that arise
- Provide a forum to expand relationships with TAMUS and other university researchers, faculty, and staff, practitioners, state and federal agencies, and representatives from Mexico and Central America to establish a foundation for future collaboration and engagement
