Description
The goal of this training is for Local Health Departments to be better prepared to work with Justices of the Peace, Emergency Management Coordinators, and other important partners by emphasizing the critical components involved in a Mass Fatality Incident.
Learning Objectives
After completing this module, you will be able to:
- Define critical terminology related to their roles and the roles of others in planning for and responding to a mass fatality incident
- Recognize acronyms used frequently by all parties involved in mass fatality management
- Distinguish the basic differences between the roles of Local Health Departments, Justices of the Peace, and Emergency Management Coordinators
- Identify specific roles of the Local Health Departments in mass fatality operations
- Describe the Local Health Departments role with regard to legal and jurisdictional responsibilities
- Explain the Local Health Departments role regarding establishment of a Family Reception Center (FRC), Family Assistance Center (FAC) and Victim Information Center (VIC)
