Stress Management

Description

This course will help you recognize and manage stress during a disaster response. It will provide you with a basic introduction to your mental health and safety in your deployment scene. This course will also acquaint you with steps and actions you can take to protect yourself and peers from stress and emotional disorder.

After completing this course, you should be able to:

  • Describe mental health protocols
  • Recognize symptoms of secondary stress
  • Identify self-care practices
  • Locate mental health resources in the community, at work, and amongst peers

Intended Audience

Emergency management individuals who want to learn better ways to protect their mental health and to learn how to recognize stress factors in their peers. No prior experience is required.
